Meet Our Team

Jay Jackson has been part of the Fleet Feet Elmhurst family since May of 2009. In college, Jay was an All-American athlete in cross country and track. Jay loves to run just about anywhere and he has qualified for the Boston Marathon 3 times, but has never run it. He would love to see GU come out with a pizza gel flavor- with caffeine of course! This year, Jay hopes to spend more time with his wife and three kids, and become more involved in serving opportunities at his church. When asked what Jay was dying to tell our Fleet Feet Elmhurst customers, he answered "I tried barefoot running- it doesn't work"!

Katie Huetson has been a loyal associate of Fleet Feet Elmhurst since 2008. Katie has been running since high school and she has participated in 2 years of track while attending Elmhurst college. She loves to run at night and can't get enough of the cran-apple flavored GU chomps. This year Katie will be braving the elements at the Shamrock Shuffle 8K. Katie is currently attending Elmhurst College pursuing a degree in Nursing. Something you might never guess about Katie? She is currently taking classes to become certified in SCUBA diving!

Casey Graham  joined the Fleet Feet Elmhurst team in May 2009 but she has been running "just for kicks" for 6 years. In 2008, Casey ran her first 5K while attending Illinois State University. She also joined Fleet Feet Elmhurst owners Emily & Josh at the Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot last fall. This year, Casey is training for the Christie Clinic half marathon. She wishes she could complete every run at Sea Wall Acadia National Park in Maine with a stash of Mike n' Ikes in her fuel belt! While Casey originally started school to pursue a BA in acting, she is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science. She dreams about one day crossing the finish line at tthe Chicago Marathon and hopes to become a certified yoga instructor. Who has ancestors that were exiled from Ireland to Scottland because of a sheep stealing attempt? Casey does!

Amanda Kemmeling came on board with Fleet Feet Elmhurst in December 2009 after she attended our Diva Night event and saw how awesome we are. She just started her running career in 2009. During that year, she completed the Schamrock Shuffle, Soldier Field 10 mile, Rock n' Roll Chicago half marathon and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. She has plans to run the Chicago half marathon this year and hopes to improve upon her finish time. During the high mileage weeks of training for the marathon, Amanda and her training partner had to run at 4:00 am in order to finish the run before work. Because of this, she still loves early morning runs, and she also loves blueberry pomegranate GU Chomps. This year, Amanda hopes to buy a home with her husband and adopt a puppy that can become her running partner. Why is Amanda's family still shocked that she loves running? Because she used to fake being sick on the annual mile run day at her elementary and  high school!

Margaret Schmitt is the newest addition to Fleet Feet Elmhurst, she has been with us since January 2010. Her running career began in 6th grade when she joined the cross country team. She was hooked and she stuck with distance running through high school and has placed in several 5k and 10k races throughout the years. Currently Margaret is training to complete a half marathon. She loves to gor for early morning runs on the Prairie Path and she always brings water flavored with Banana Nuun. The Fleet Feet Elmhurst associate that gets the least hours of sleep per night? Margaret because she is a loving mom who has her hands full with twins- an adorable boy and girl born September 2009.
